It has to be what you’re most like, because that’s where you have the most credibility and the ones that are most like you, because they know you have the credibility they can relate to you.
For example, if you’re a single mom and you know how to market to single moms, because you have a product or area of expertise to market to them, then a single mom is a good market niche. Online you can find single moms all day on Google.
Perhaps professional speakers, if you’re a professional speaker that’s a good market niche.
- Spiritual healer
- College student
- Retired professional
- Massage therapist
- Author
- CPA
- Coach
- Consultant
- Network marketer
- Married couple
- Divorced couple
- Veteran real estate investor
- Human Resources personnel
- CEO; Entrepreneurial CEO
If you’re not a college student, that’s okay as long as you were one at one time. You want to be like your target market. You want to be like them and you want to get them to like you.
Why is that important? It is because there’s no way you can have credibility with a group you don’t know about, don’t like or that don’t eventually like you.
These are all market niches. Notice the list is all who’s; a market isn’t a thing it’s a person and a niche is like the Grand Canyon it should be a mile deep and an inch wide. As far as the earth is concerned the Grand Canyon is just that size when you look at it from 25,000 feet.
One thing that’s incredibly important about a market niche is the more specific it is the easier and more predictable it is. The easier it is to find the more predictable their behavior will be.
For example, veteran real estate investor is a, different market niche then a newbie real estate investor would you agree? Veterans have different problems and pet peeves than someone who’s new to real estate investing, so they need to be handled differently.
How do I decide on a market niche? I focus on professionals or consumers I’m most like and who are most like me that’s the answer.
