Create a Mini eCourse
The easiest way is have a live teleseminar and record it.
If you were going to do the same thing with the eBook you’d just have to record it once or until you have world-class content, so if you have great content you only did that once and then you’re repurposing it over and over again.
If you wanted to start with a mini eCourse you would have an eBook already built in there. Here’s what you do. You record the teleseminar and let’s say it’s a 70 minute call. You have it transcribed. You edit the transcription, spruce it up and then you chop it up into five to seven pieces, I like five pieces.
You chop it up into five pieces. You chop up the audio, which is also recorded, repurposed and then edited. You chop up the written word, which could be the eBook chopped up into five slices as in a pie. Then you deliver that through another means via autoresponder if you want it easy for you.
Now it becomes a five-day mini eCourse or a five-week mini eCourse if you gave it out once a week or it could be a five-month mini eCourse if you gave it out once a month. I personally like the five-day mini eCourse.
That’s a great ethical bribe, which is another repurposing strategy to sell something else. What I love about five-day mini eCourses — it’s just a brand name, I mean you can call it anything, you can do a five-day audio-coaching program you could call it that.
I call it a five-day mini eCourse, because when you drip on your students, your prospects or your clients whoever it is that you’re talking to, when you drip on them like a faucet drips you’re not like a fire hose.
An eBook could be like a fire hose, it just comes through and for many that’s overwhelming. If you drip on someone like a faucet – there are faucet people and fire hose people – then what ends up happening is through that spaced repetition they end up learning better, because people have different learning styles.
When you look at the final analysis I would do both. I would give them everything at once, so the audio eBook all at once, then drip it on them by chopping it up, having chopped it up into five pieces and giving it every single day.
The reason I like to do that with a mini eCourse, give all of it at once and then give them mini pieces to it, is because some people are fire hose people, they need all of it at once. They don’t want to go at your pace they want to go at their own pace. They want it all, all at once whereas the faucet people they want it a little bit at a time.
If you want to appease both then what you want to do is have all of it given and say, “I’m going to be giving you these in five sections like five slices of pizza and you’re going to have it as an hors d'oeuvre every single day.”
Look for the subject line that says and look for the from email that says and then you have them white list you, which is another great reason as an electronic marketer to have a mini eCourse. You can have people white list you meaning you get out of their spam folder, because you’re giving a mini eCourse.
You may not get out of the spam folder if you had a PDF eBook, because it’s only one delivery, but with a mini eCourse you’ve chopped it up and now you’ve added audio, which is a passive form of communication. You have the active form, written and you have passive, audio; very powerful.
