How Do I Repurpose Into A Digital Transcript?

Repurpose Into a Digital Transcript

You gave a presentation once, but now what? To give your content the greatest shelf life, you’ll want to repurpose your presentation into an e-learning course, including digital transcripts.  What are the benefits of having a digital transcript? We’ll show you…

Whether you’ve done a webinar, teleseminar, or live seminar you can convert your audio into a digital transcript. A digital transcript is essentially an accessible, eco-friendly alternative to paper transcripts. You can use it both as the active side of an e-course or as a free offer for your marketing campaign. All you have to do is give an online web presentation and record it, and then give it to a transcriptionist to turn into a digital transcript.

This can also be a mini ebook or the written version of a mini e-course.  It can be a special report.  It can also be called a consumer awareness guide.

How do you repurpose a digital transcript?

You repurpose it the same way you repurpose a physical transcript or paper transcript, only you don’t kill any trees in the process.

It’s made up of molecules, it’s digital, and it’s read online unless it’s printed by the reader.  In that case it comes through the printer and becomes physical.  A digital or PDF transcript is nothing more than your words spoken and transcribed by a professional transcriptionist.

In transcription they can clean it up, enhance it, put in some call-outs like little headlines down the side so it’s fun to look at and read, and save it as a PDF document. That’s called a PDF transcript and it’s in a form that every computer can read.

A PDF transcript is a transcript where you take your passive audio content and turn it into an active form for reading.  That by itself has power.

When you “drip” this written content on your students on a daily basis without audio, that’s called a mini e-course. A digital transcript is the active side of a mini e-course. The audio is the passive side of a mini e-course.

If you chop the transcript into pieces, which you can do digitally, you then serve these hors de oeuvres to your students and listeners and you have a mini e-course that’s dripping on your student body, and that’s very effective.  If you don’t do that, the whole thing will be too overwhelming in many cases.
